If you are interested in working in the fashion industry in Spain, not only as a salesperson but also in other roles, I recommend two of the largest Spanish companies in the sector. Companies that produce and market their garments worldwide.
The first company is Tendam, formerly known as Grupo Cortefiel. It is one of the leading European companies in the fashion industry in the specialty chain shop segment. It was founded in Madrid in 1880 and is present in 90 countries with more than 2,000 points of sale.
It is widespread in many countries, but its main focus is in the Iberian countries (Spain and Portugal).
It operates with the following brands:
- Cortefiel, traditional clothing
- Springfield, young fashion
- Women’s Secret, women’s underwear
- Pedro del Hierro, men’s and women’s fashion
Each brand has its own design team and sales and management structure. They share administrative, financial, technological, commercial and human resources management. The company headquarters are located in Madrid.
The Group has international purchasing offices in Spain, Hong Kong and India. Distribution is centralized in the logistics platform in Madrid and Hong Kong, from where all own stores and franchises are supplied.

The company is represented by the following brands:
- Zara is the main brand of the chain. It covers different styles, from men, women and children,
- Zara Home specializes in items for home decoration. In addition to products from the textile sector, it also sells tableware, cutlery, glasses and decorative items
- Massimo Dutti, is characterized by its classic designs
- Pull&Bear, is the young brand of the Galician group
- Bershka, with a young and informal style, with an image associated with music, trends and new technologies. It targets an audience between 13 and 25 years old.
- Oysho, offering women’s underwear, is one of the fastest growing brands in the group.
- Uterquee, a brand specializing in fashion accessories
- Lefties, a brand that offers affordable fashion for women, men and children
- Stradivarius is one of the most successful brands in recent years. It is aimed at a young female audience.
- Tempe, the shoe brand of the Inditex group. The production facilities are located in Elche (Alicante)
